Hi There! This beauty was found on the 22nd of July in Stockholm, Sweden between the hundereds of Lasius niger queens! She is 12mm long and black! I do not believe she is Lasius niger as her Gaster is a tiny bit more elongated and she is faster! Her Thorax is also not as tall as My other Lasius nige...

I believe that she is camponotus as she has laid a few eggs and i know that they are slow movers!

Hi Everybody! Back from camping and i spotted soooooo many Lasius niger queens! I don't need any but it was amazing! I also found a queen of another species which needs ID (make a proper post). It's nice to see that everybody has found so many queens! One of mine died while i was gone but it wasn't ...

Awesome, well done! I'd love to see some pics of your queens settling in ;) We have the same drought here in the netherlands, but sadly only Lasius niger seems to enjoy it... I've been checking up on some wild colonies every once in a while and though they have enlarged their nest openings like two...

Finally after multiple Lasius Niger nuptial flights for S.England, I've spotted lots of Lasius Flavus workers and occasionally some elates at small openings.
