Just don’t use sugar water for the actual test tube founding with the queen. It can cause fatal problems there - Mikey Bustos talks about this in a video. You could probably use sugar water for a large colony with another water source.

I’m sorry, I just realized the link sent me to the wrong place. Looking at the picture now I think it’s actually some sort of wasp, not an ant.

This does look like Tetramorium, perhaps Immigrans, even though it’s exotic in your region. Never use sugar water, it can result in some serious problems with your Queen.

Brachymyrmex Hibernation
Hi. I have been hibernating my brachymyrmex depilis for a month in a fridge. I’ve heard that they only hibernate for a short time. I was wondering if I could pull her at a month and a half and she would start laying eggs. Or will she have not hibernated for long enough?
