I am thinking the last queen I posted may be Camponotus castaneous maybe? Hoping that is what it is because carpenter ants are really what I want :).

Does it have to be a specific species? And how difficult would it be to imitate that in captivity?

Found another queen tonight around the same light I found the other four at. This queen is huge, 18-20 mm. Has a brownish red head and yellow body. Will get pictures up tomorrow. Lost one of the last four quens I caught unfortunately.

I'm in alabama and found 12 queen fire ants around my driveway in the past two days. Very easy to find here.

From what I have read Lasius interjectus is a social parasite. Not sure what needs to be done to raise them. Anyone have experience with them?

Second queen 4-5 mm Caught around 3 pm by driveway. Also would like to know species if anyone can tell, it was suggested that it may be a Lasius.
