They're probably having a nuptial flight which is why they're very active. I'm currently trying to ID them right now.
It would also be helpful if you have any images of them. Capturing and photographing workers, drones, and alates is a good idea.

First of all, I don't think there's any need to think of formicarium ideas yet. Once you catch your queen, it will still take probably a year before they'll need a formicarium. The cork might not mold, but that's definitely a risk. The ants would probably just dig into it and make their own nest ins...

IMO queens should only be fed if they're not laying. It's not natural.

What species is she? You seemed to have gotten her pretty late. She should've already started hibernating around the middle of the month, and she should be taken out in March.
