There are still some worker and i think 1 larva being held hostage (brings back memories from when jeff was held back  ). But they are doing fine with a nice pile o...

Re: is there a way to leave ants for up to 3 weeks?
Depending on what stage the colony is, you can leave them for three weeks (or sometimes even more) If the colony is just founding with only a queen, you can leave them for a month (doesn't work for semiclaustral species however) If the colony has an outworld attached, you can leave sufficient food i...

Just a tip, don't feed them sugars too much. They will stop doing anything and will not leave their nest or eat anything else (thats what I observed with mine)

I've been feeding them every Saturday and the colony's growing nice. I took some photos and videos but i am thinking I will also start a yt channel to post about the colonies (along with some other hobbies) but not now as i can't find time (school and coaching both are destroying me)

Re: Red queen ant, Batavia, IL (possibly red harvester ant)
Feed her once a week with very little amounts of food (sugars one week and protein the other week) and don't check on her other than the feeding days

Re: Pheidole Journal
You should just keep them in a test tube setup and remove the outworld until the colony grows larger. Also start feeding them a little more to hopefully get their numbers back up
