I know the picture is not good at all, but any clue what type ant it is? I looked around for some with no wings, and found none.

It was caught under a street lamp at 9:30 pm. I am in Alabama. There were hundreds of them, I got 4. Will try to get better pictures up tomorrow. I tried to start a new topic but could not figure out how to.

Am in Alabama also, my daughter found a queen a week ago and got me interested in this hobby. Since then I have found about 11queens pretty sure they are all Solenopsis invicta. So altogether we have kept five queens, and have them in test tube setups. Also have collected a small colony pretty sure ...
