I've been a GAN Farmer for a couple of months now and so far it has been pretty crappy. I have gotten weird text messages, a no-show, and several requests to ship ants. Has this been other GAN Farmers' experience as well? I am also deeply concerned about whom I am selling to. I get parents who...

Re: Fluon + Aquarium silicone = escapees

Re: What is the best way to move your queen into a new test tube?
You have to be more patient!!!! I've moved several Queens between test tubes using the same method and it usually takes the queen 3 to 5 days move. With workers, it can be faster.

Re: What do you feed your ants in general

Re: What do you feed your ants in general
That's a lot of food for a small colony. They eat that all up in a day?
I feed mine:
distilled water
honey water (1 part honey, 4 parts water)
frozen fruit flies
I tried feeding cut up mealworms but they seem to prefer the fruit flies

Re: Hibernation questions
In the wild, their chamber would be underground which would, I think, have a moderating affect on temperature. Currently, I have my Queens in a fridge at 10C (that's 50F in Americanese), which is about the mid-range of the daily hi/low outdoor temp. I check on my Queens about once a week mostly to e...
