Hi I'm building a few grout formicariums but I'm looking for suggestions on brands as most seem to be water resistant , im copy a woman named crystal on another forum and she uses polybond non sanded grout but it's expensive to ship it here !! I have 4 lasius queens I caught at end of July and there still standing over the eggs so it's not unusual you could just keep the cotton your blocking the test tube wet ! That would give her a drink . You could maybe try some protein but niger are fully claustral so she shouldn't need it .it's also ...

Small flyless fruitflys are perfect I find just pop two or 3 into freezer for 10 mins and give to them ! They never refuse them

Strange is it possible the queens only a small bit bigger ? Check online !! There isn't always a big diff between queen and worker or major size !!

It may be stress from moving ! As for hibernating I've read conflicting information some people say you should other s say because there from a warmer climate they don't really need to hibernate especially the first winter so it's up to yourself See what happensfor a week

Do you leave your colony out like that or put them into a dark area cos I've my colony for three months and have no brood so I've stored them away and gonna leave the queen alone for a month and hope for the best ,also are you heating the nest?

Id leave seeds and a water supply and cover if possible and leave them for a few weeks at least and remember Messer b are from a dry climate so they don't need a lot of water and maybe keep the heat Matt away from nest proper so your not hurting queen accidently with too much heat
