Re: My Solenopsis molesta colony

The queen and workers escaped!

AntsDakota's Ponera pennsylvanica colony

Today I caught an ant colony that I would have never thought I would catch. Ponera pennsylvanica! :D It is a young colony with a single queen along with 8 of her daughters. Re: Formica Ravida

All Formica are relatively easy to keep. And yes, they will lay their own eggs once they have host workers. Although introducing host workers may be difficult.

I’m pretty sure it’ll be good to eat, you just have to see what kind of food your ants like. In general though, fresh food is better than frozen.
Agreed. Freeze dried food is not as nutrient rich as fresh food.

The emoji on my iPad is more like a regular ant. When I submit it on the forum, it looks weird.

Re: Found a (Actual) queen + Ant Journal

Well thanks everyone, but I released the one i thought was a queen (looked more like a drone... or a really weird looking bee/wasp) in the previous post but today I was bringing up a Trash bin when I saw this huge ant come running across the ground (might have almost squished her) but i caught it w...
