Hi I got my very first queen Lasius niger about 2 weeks ago and since then she has laid many eggs, some are even in the 2nd stage. Many thanks for the advice and I will take that on board. Maybe I will use some gravel instead.

It was from ant kit uk. I would never purchase an ant from another country due to the eco system so that's why I chose Lasus niger and any future ants I would purchase would be ants native to the uk.
