Well now that I looked at all the pictures you have of her I'm not certain of my assumption I know it isn't a camponotus now sorry I didn't see the other pictures and thought she was much bigger as I said batspider could probably ID her

Yes we can that's a ant queen alright it looks like a C. Herculaneus to me but I'm sure batspiderfish can give you a more positive ID

Well, we can tell they are myrmecine ants. Solenopsis or Pheidole are the most likely possibilities, given the description of their nest. I got a very good look at their queen is their any specific solenopsis or pheidole species I should look into I know for a fact these guys aren't invicta and so far as I can tell they cant sting as I have had a few crawl on me the queens body was orange like the workers with a dark brownish head and...

ok I will attempt to get some good pictures of them they are now in a plastic container with some testtubes I'm hopin gthey will move out of the soil that I scooped up when I caught them I'm really excited because I was able to actually see the queen in the container with them :D :D
