In a house, Pouring liquid everywhere isn't going to help. Diatematious earth is a safe way to be rid of them. It's perfectly harmless to humans and pets, but will exterminate the colony.

use a bbq skewer but break it so the jagged end is going into the tube. twist to remove. works great. after that is removed, i soak it in soapy water then use a new cotton ball, push it to the bottom of the tube and then use the bbq skewer again to get it out. this cleans the tube.

My new Lasius Niger colonies are still in the test tubes that they arrived in, I've connected them to very small outworlds & workers come out to feed. I tried to provide them water using a soaked cotton ball but it dries up really quickly. Do I need to provide them with water in the outworld or is ...

The drinking straw creates a more comfortable tunnel with less wind and light so they are less stressed

Here is what I suggest you do. Use a one inch section of drinking straw wedged between the side of the tube and the exit cotton to act as a tunnel for your colony. Then place the whole tube in a tupperware container with a barrier. Then feed them in the outworld.
