Re: Prenolepis imparis
I agree, I would give them an outworld. With my short experience with keeping ants, I already hate feeding my ants in test tubes as it is very messy, especially with liquids.

Re: EMERGENCY PHARAOH QUEEN
Not Pharaoh ants if you live in Oregon and found them outside. The invasive Monomorium pharaonis, the Pharaoh ant, can only survive in heated buildings in the USA. They might be Solenopsis molesta or a closely related species.

Re: Prenolepis imparis
Great write-up of your progress. Mine seem to be doing well....only one queen, but six workers so far. Stressing about overcrowding seeing as the formicarium delivery is about 3 weeks out! :( Did you get any workers yet? Nope, I just checked today and there were still pupae for all of my queens (bu...

Is the queen uniformly black, or some red on the mesosoma/gaster? Better pics would be nice.

Re: Identify this ant
Lasius myops is not present in the USA, but once again more details are needed to make an accurate ID.

Re: Need Worker identified
Thanks! Camponotus pennsylvanicus . Oh btw, do you have any suggestions on where to look for Camponotus pennsylvanicus queens or where they usually like to look for a place to found a nest? I can usually find a bunch of workers and major workers on my sidewalk and driveway but i have yet to see a q...
