The queens in your driveway's colony are not fertilized. Catching these queens would not accomplish anything. It's been about a week since I discovered my first queen. I added more coco fiber to the mix. I ordered some large test tubes from eBay I also ordered a strange gel ant farm looks cool can't wait till it shows up it appears to be a modular setup so I can attached new worlds to it (I'm super excited...

I have to say that looks very similar to the one I caught...someone identified mine as camponotus modoc...
