Yesterday was the start of a new year for ant keepers in victoria as there was some species of iridimyrmex and ochetalus flying i hope to see more coming soon.

hey good to see you getting into the hobby. i suggest camponotus as there slow growers are adaptable to cold weather, and easy to care for (plus there poliginus meaning they have multiple shapes and sizes) they also dont get out or attempt to get out as much. i suggest you read hitch3's camponotus C...

i got into ant keeping the same sort of way. i had an anonychromyrma queen land on my knee, at the time i didn't know until it bit me i grabed it by the wings and threw it(metaphorically speeking) into a test tube and i had a great colony until they died a few weeks ago

Winter in Australia ends in 23 days but the cooler weather lasts another 10 days(roughly) but nupital flights didnt start till september 20th, so 30 days all up, i cant wait either

i know the feeling, as tis was my first hibernation, my third gen of anonychromyrma died leaving the queen to deal with like 100 eggs and she died shortly after, but i cant wait to get some cool spp of ants, hopefully myrmicia or camponotus which ive found 3 nests of them near my house :D . Hello guys i need help with my camponotus intrpidus "colony". i say colony but there just some queens and a few workers that got separated from there nest when i got some firewood for winter, i was able to get all the queens and a few workers (7 & 3) i know that they are infertile and im just taking...
