I saw males flying just the other day. Females will come out when it's in the high 60's, low 70's, the first day that these temperatures are met, is when you should look. They will start flying with females in February, up until April. They fly from late noon to around six. Hope this helps!

I took mine out after they ate the larva, and put them in in early September as well, so I think it's long enough. I think you should keep yours in for about four months for best results.
