Wild caught colonies for fan project
Hey everyone
I have had loads of success catching wild colonies and none raising a colony from a queen
So I was wandering if u could catch wild colonies, keep them for a week or 2 to make sure they adjust to captivity and have a healthy brood pile? Please reply

Day 15
There are some larvae in mid form entailing they moulted once or twice and I only had cocoons when I caught the colony. There for when the cocoons start piling up and population explodes I will know the egg to worker time

I also think they are fire ants as they swarm in the same manner as Mikey Bustos' fire ants

Now 2 weeks later they are going strong with only 7 casualties and two thirds of the cocoons hatched and there is a steady brood pile of eggs and larvae they drank almost an entire small test tube of water and are eating crushed nuts, disected insects and tons of honey :P once they even started movi...
