I used to cultivate feeders like fruit flies for small reptiles. If you use disposable plastic deli cups or something similar, there is no cleaning required. Much less gross

Some of them will also just die. I've lost roughly 50% of the queens I have caught. Not 50% of each species mind you. It does make sense that there are a lot of factors that will prevent every queen from being successful. Could you imagine if every single fertilized queen actually survived to found ...

Sugar is sugar but honey is one of the few sugar sources that is also packed with a number of other benefits. It's packed with nutrition if you get the unprocessed raw honey. Refined white sugars are not good for anyone though they taste good .
