I have tried moving ants into Hybrids or Omnis or other formicaria at 4 - 6 workers with poor success rates. The main motivation for me was to make feeding them easier than in a test tube setup. Just an FYI that waiting may pay off in the long run for the health of the colony.

If you think you might be interested in using Hybrid nests, the Hybrid nest ships with one 16x150mm plastic test tube. This size fits the Hybrid nest connection points.

I monitored several harvester ant colonies last year and saw similar alate activity for a few days. Then a rainstorm hit and they flew the next day.

Definitely a queen. The large thorax (middle section of body) is a good sign it's a queen.
