Seems to be a Formica queen of the fusca-group.

Actually, I think I need to stick with my gut -- Formica pallidefulva looks so much like Myrmecocystus to me. I would need more detailed photographs in order to tell. If you look at them with a magnifying lens of any sort, does it look like the underneath of their heads are really hairy? (asides fro...

Thanks! From the new pictures I'm feeling like these are fully claustral Myrmecocystus queens. While their range in Colorado is a little questionable, I'm pretty sure M. mimicus, with its many color variations would fit that nice red.

She is Camponotus sp., if she's two centimeters (3 is too big for our Camponotus.)

Your queen is Camponotus novaeboracensis. Camponotus queens all have pretty big heads, but none (at least in North America) are social parasites.
