Re: Camponotus outworld ideas

Didn't see the other categorie before I posted. It will be for camponotus noveboracensis or chromaiodes, haven't got a proper I'd yet. I want to try a couple things to challenge them, maybe honey in a test tube with mulch or saw dust blocking the opening. Wood bridge of some kind, nothing too elabor...

Re: Cotton looks dry

I used a qtip too push on the cotton, only problem with that is it disrupts the queen and you risk pushing too much and flooding the eggs. I am not a pro by any means.

Camponotus outworld ideas

I'm putting together an out world for camponotus. I've seen tutorials for making terrariums, grout with sand and plastic plants with a feeding area.

Does anyone have any tips to share for camponotus keeping? Anything that would make it more natural for them.

Re: Ant poop in test tube??

If you are worried she might escape, you should just connect a second test tube with the first one like this: http://imgur.com/GHPreeH http://imgur.com/a/UXCXJ Make sure the second test tube is "better" by making it warmer, moist(of course) and a little (very little) drop of honey. If the white lin...

Re: Black Carpenter vs Wasp

Short answer yes I managed to pull the wasp put of the eavestrough and placed it back up on the rail. I'm assuming backup arrived because the next time I checked the wasp was being pulled into their nest. Didn't get my camera in time. The next day I found a camp queen on my belcony, no wings and she...

Black Carpenter vs Wasp

Hello

I decapitated a wasp trying to catch it in my house, so I decided to put it out for the wild camponotus p. on my belcony. Camera is a little shaky, hope you can appreciate.
