Tetramorium Immigrans Nanatic Behavior
So just a bit of helpful information I learned last summer. I had around 40 tetramorium immigrans colonies and decided to brood boost into one super colony. Quite a few had nanatics however so I wasnt sure how it would go. After removing the queens I would attach the tube to a set up that had the st...

Update on my colonies and new additions
Been a while since I posted but heres a quick update I began the hibernation period with 2 Tetramorium immigrans colonies... both of which survived easily. I chose to release the weaker of the two (contained 30-40 larva and 20-30 workers). The other came out of hibernation with around 70 workers and...

Re: Is she dead? Why won’t she leave the tube?
Lol and when it comes time to transfer them from a tube to another tube or formicarium be prepared to be patient. I have a 3 queen, 30ish worker Lasius Flavus Colony (only a few eggs)... just did a transfer to a new tube set up that also has an AC portal attached at the very same time I was doing th...

Feeding Honey... problems
Since my L. Humile colony was a larger breed and numbered around 200 I basically gave them unlimited honey via a filled test tube and an AC connector that I received that was manufactured wrong (the connector opening on one end was not fully open and the whole was about the size of a pen cap). I pla...

I released my L. Humile colony
I sadly made the decision to release my L. Humile colony. I was not prepared to take care of a larger breed of ant in great numbers it appears. The decision was made because of the degree of difficulty cleaning up after them... Their nest was a test tube as well as a series of tubing, connectors and...

Mass Nanatic transfer
Well one of my three multi queen tetramorium colonies finally had their battle for power. Unfortunately both were mortally wounded, both were missing multiple legs and antenna. They were still alive but the colony would be unlikely to survive. They had 21 nanatics and around 20-30 brood mostly larva...

Introduced 3 new queens to my 3 queen Lasius Flavus
Well about two weeks ago I caught 3 Lasius Flavus queens after they had nuptials (i caught 3 others i have no clue what they are) and placed them in a tube. Well for some reason none of the 3 have laid eggs so I said screw it and put them in the same set up as my 30ish workers and 3 queen colony... ...

Lasius Flavus... first protein lol
So I've tried various insects... crickets, flies beetles etc. I tried chicken, tried other ant brood... nothing. I have a 3 queen 30 worker (brood boosted colony). They have consumed many of the eclosed brood which us why my queens have a large clutch of eggs but today while feeding my tetramorium h...

Time to move my main Tetramorium colony!
My colony now has close to 60 nanatics. Still yet to see any full grown worker larva or pupae. Hundreds of brood though. I haven't decided which set up I'm going with this time. I already have a small AC tower with a tetramorium colony that is likely 20-40 workers strong both nanatic and full grown.

My multi queen tetramorium colonies
Well my 2 two queen and 1 four queen tetramorium set ups are still whole despite the fact they have had worlers for over a month. The two queen set ups both have over 10 workers each and the 4 queen has 4-6. Im curious how long this tranquility will last. By most accounts they have already passed th...
