Re: Possible budding??
Unfortunately if you collect the queens before they fly off to mate it will be an adventure of failure. These queens are unmated meaning they will never lay eggs. If you see males and queens budding be sure to check back ever 6 to twelve hours for the next two days and I'm sure you'll see them flyin...

Re: Ant queen identification help?!
Okay I'm not gonna lie I have zero experience with ants in Sri Lanka so I'll do my best to help. These are good pictures I'm sure she's in the formicidae family but I am not confident enough further I can't count the antenna scape and I'd need to see the madibles. If you could get a shot of the fron...

Re: Brachymyrmex Depilis care sheet?
Great burst of info.
Couple of questions.
Do they prefer a false nest or a dirt nest?
How long roughly for workers to show up (I assume pretty quick because of the monomorpgic tininess)
What's a good temp for these guys it sounds like their akin is pretty thin don't wanna flash freeze em.

That makes me so happy that I was right about the genus again the eyes aren't so great. However im curious what makes it depilis? I'm amazed the quality was good enough for an accurate ID Oops depilis - without hair B. depilis is the only species from the genus which lives that far north. And there...
