Re: new genus for me, please help identify

thank you.

is there a source of info you would recommend so i dont have to ask questions for every tiny thing.

right now i am immersed in AC, delving into antswiki.com for genus and species specific info, and using the formiculture nuptial flight charts.

Re: ARK-LA-TN-MS-AL-GA-SC-NC nuptial flights

two weeks ago i was catching lots of solenopsis pretty exclusively. i think these look like multiple species, ill get a new lens in soon to verify. all the rain recently has brought out more ants in the gulf states. yesterday i saw a colony going for nuptials at my work. they are a tiny ant species ...

ARK-LA-TN-MS-AL-GA-SC-NC nuptial flights

im based in northern Louisiana, lets get a good thread going for a regional ant info. why these states? its similar in size to another highly successful thread that would border this on to the north(starting KY and parts north). there also seems to be similar weather and ant variety making this a ve...

Re: Need Ant Queen ID

Note:cowkiller, and velvet red ant are the same thing. a wingless wasp with a bad sting. not an ant.

chok it up to bad naming practices.

(just in case it was not clear, dont want you setting up an expensive formicarium for nought)

Re: drowned, but now i know

ohh she dead. i had dumped her on a paper towel, cleaned the jar. ate. then took another 45 minute walk. when i got back she was dry and stretched out on her back, even the whole time after while i was attempting to magnify so i could properly identify. this was also a week ago, so even if after all...

the third queen i collected drowned. so i clean out my collection jars inbetween each time i queen walk. apparently one of the jars had the tiniest amount of water in it, because when i got home, i lined up my queens and my test tubes only to find that one had drowned in a single drop of water. (she...

Re: Louisiana/Alabama/Florida/Mississippi Nuptial Flight Sightings
