Re: Ausants ants journal
Hi AusAnts,
Really cool to hear about your ant colonies
What kind of environment did you give your Strobe Ants?
Hopefully they are alive and doing well.

Re: BluMoon's Ant Keeping Journey
So . . . it has been a long time since any sort of update here (hehe...). I have decided to just do a quick little entry on what has happened during the past couple of months: 1. caught queen ant no.1 https://drive.google.com/open?id=10Jtj28wobuErJdRIriX8w0RCfQvJUcNA 2. learned that she may be tetra...

Strobe Ant Care
Hi there,
I live in Australia and I am considering purchasing a strobe ant (opisthopsis) queen. Does anybody have any tips or information on how to look after these awesome ants (e.g. humidity)?
Thanks

Re: Black/red Queen, caught in Victoria
Just to add a couple more details, I caught her on Tuesday, 14th of April. She has 2 visible parts to her waist, one which seems to angle down at 45 degrees. Her mandibles are large in width, but not too long. A small detail that I'm not sure will help or not, is that the end of her antenna are larg...

Black/red Queen, caught in Victoria
Hi there, I have caught a second queen this year, and once again, I need help with identification. :) She is roughly 8mm long, and her gaster and thorax are black, while her head is more of a dark red. Her nuptial flight was in Victoria, early autumn, in the evening. Here is a link to several photos...

No, it haven't the same appearance ; and it can't appear just after one night. Oh... oops sorry. Hope you find out what it i...

Is she alive still?
So I have had a supposedly pavement ant queen for a while now. For the first 2 or 3 weeks she didn't really do anything in the test tube set up a I had given her. It was getting really hard not to check up on her, and I thought maybe the test tube set up wasn't working for her. So, I gave her a box ...
