Eugene, OR. sighting

I live in Eugene, Oregon and on a walk home from frisbee golf I found what appears to be a queen, the one thing that is keeping me from believing that is a small tube thing on the end of the abdomen. (will show in pictures) It flipped out and went berserk for about 10 minutes in the test tube then c...

camponotus garbage pileup

I have had a camonotus queen in a test tube for a month or two now and she finally got her first worker. Yay!! I have had colony in a test tube for about 2 months now and I am starting to add stuff on and I have run into a problem, but I want to know if I can get air to my colony by using a tri-connector with a cotton ball and the two connecting tubes to provide oxygen to the test tubes. I am going to try to...

Re: Queen Ant Hunting

I do have one question, do they use images of queens or workers to show everything? They do for most spp. Its still a "work in progress" site as most informational sites are these days. So you may find images with some but not others. Thats why i cross reference with other sites and google images. ...

Re: Queen Ant Hunting

I have also been having troubles finding queens for basically the same reasons, I was just reading over this and I was wondering is there a good trustworthy website to follow step #6? I have tried googling around to find one that knows what I am looking for, but all I usually find is pest control a...

Re: Queen Ant Hunting

I forgot to talk about this also, have not had rain where I live for the past 2-3 weeks is that going to be a big problem for nuptial flights and a reason why I have not found any ants lately.
