They like the same things that other ants do, although these are claustral and won't need food until workers come (which might be next spring).

I'm confident that she is Lasius. Their mating season is just kicking into gear, whereas most Formica are finished.

There is some overlap in the sizes between Lasius and Formica queens.

Crematogaster, but she could be one of the other species. They can't be identified without a view of the hair coverage on the top of their mesosoma/thorax.
