To be perfectly honest I'm not sure. I was so hyped on finding the solenopsis queens that I didn't even check. :lol: They are all in test tubes now and don't want to disturb them. I'll check in a week or two and if they are still alive and now eggs I'll take it as they were males (like someone else ...

That's what I thought too but they are pitch black in comparison. Solenopsis are a reddish and it really shows between to two. LOL would make sense. Oh well they will die anyways.

I've seen the solenopsis males and they too are reddish in color. These are pitch black in comparison. I know this be cause I dropped one of those solenopsis queens in by accident and they went to fighting right away. :o
Also the thorax isn't as big on the solenopsis males.

Ok again no clue so I thought I'd ask my fellow ant lovers! Plus still at work.

Caught today, 530pm, here in Tuscaloosa Al.
