Re: I need feedback on my design and plans!
Your plan looks incredible. Far more complex that what I have my Camponotus ants in. I am not too familiar with aquariums so I cannot aid in that aspect. Just be sure the water does not make conditions to humid for them though.

Re: I need help finding tetramorium...
From my experience, Tetramorium queen can be easily caught in local parks. Most parks have Tetramorium or Lasius colonies from my area. The nuptial flight may have already passed as Tetramorium where I live have gone through their flights in the last half of May. There still may be a few flying arou...

First year Camponotus formicarium
So I have seen that it is best to place a Camponotus colony into a formicarium until the colony reaches about 20-50 workers, which does not occur until the second year.
To those who have more experience with Camponotus ants, what do you guys do as far as an outworld or a nest before that point?

Herbs in Formicarium
I am in the middle of planning a large formicarium for a future colony and I want to add some plants to the formicarium. I have already read about partridge peas and other plants discussed on the forum, but I have not heard anything about herbs. I have heard some people use mint plants as part of th...

Re: When should I move my pavement ant (USA) to a larger nest?
I would wait to move here into a larger nest until she reaches about 20 workers. They may not be too keen on moving in at first, but will eventually move in later on.

Re: Cleaning AC Out WOrld
If possible, I would recommend connecting another temporary outworld to their nest and have the Food placed in their for a while. You will hopefully see more ants foraging in the new area. Once the AC outworld looks less crowded, you are going to disconnect the outworld and plug up the tubes with co...

Is this a Camponotus Queen?
I was out looking for queens and managed to find this one out at a public park. She is about 1 cm in length. I have seen Camponotus ants in other areas but none where I live. Can anyone identify this one? My camera is not the best so it will not look too well. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1WX3Nt...

Re: Weird Tetramorium behavior?
I have seen my Tetramorium colony do this with some crickets I feed them every now and then. I believe they wish to save it for later or ensure no other predators can see it to ensure it does not get snatched up. They may be good with sweets which is why they have done it for the Banana. This is jus...
