I don't think you should check her as much as you might be stressing her out. Try your best to give her some alone time. Only check on her once a week. Good luck!

Re: Species recommendation for Idaho U.S.A?
Thanks idahoantgirl, I recently caught some camponotus queens, 2 without wings and 3 with wings. I was wondering If those were common in Idaho? Hoping to establish a healthy Camponotus colony :D Yeah, there are 11 species native to Idaho according to http://antmaps.org/?mode=diversity&genus=Campono...

Re: Fungus-Growing Ants
You have to learn to appreciate what is native in your area. Transporting ants over state lines is ecologically irresponsible and usually illegal

Wow, that is a cool design!UnrealSparks wrote: ↑Fri May 10, 2019 3:21 pmAnother great thing about using tubes is that you can put multiple, even for different colonies, all under the same mat, without a single problem. I'm indeed heating 3 colonies at once now.

Yeah, I like to start an outworld as soon as it is a struggle to keep them all in the test tube during feeding time.

At what latitude do ants stop hibernating? Do all ants hibernate in Texas? I guess I don't know how cold it gets in Texas. . .JoeHostile1 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2019 7:09 amIn December she should have been hibernating, not trying to found a colony. That is most likely why she doesn’t have any workers.
