I suggest springtails. They are very effective at cleaning mold and aren't harmful to the ants. You can find them in your yard or order the online.

Habitat nest series?

When I first started watching AntsCanada, the thing I admired most where his Habitat nests. They where very naturalistic get clean. I always said that one day I was going to get one. Even more awesome products like the Habitat nest 3d or the AntsCanada starter kit or even the burrow were very awesom...

I have noticed that ants with only one antennae sometimes act a bit dumber. Queens, however, will only have to lay eggs, so she won't even use them very much.

I am continuing this journal as I could not keep track of my colonies well when they were all bunched up. One month later, and most have pupae. The one in the firebrick formicariums was moved into a grey grotube as they had trouble foraging and putting trash in their nest. A couple workers have died...

Lasius alienus queens are a couple millimeters smaller than Lasius neoniger queens and are darker. The workers are also smaller and darker. They also often nest in wooded areas.

BTW I believe species name is lowercase. Ex. Lasius flavus not Lasius Flavus
