Re: Do Pavement Ants easily climb up corners?

I've kept A tetramaorium for coming on two years now. They fill a hybrid nest completely. Here is what I have found: Best barrier: DRY baby powder (no rubbing alcohol) When I used baby powder Plus Alcohol, my tetramorium could climb over it real easy. While I haven't tried vasaline, I think they wo...

Re: Found a (Actual) queen + Ant Journal

Ya, they were cool, how tiny black and pharaoh ants kill them... Idk. Also the queen now as 3 eggs, YAY!!! :D Don't check up on her as often as you seem to be. I used to, and my new queens are developing a lot faster than those ones. Most experienced ant keepers would probably recommend once every ...

Re: PSA: Shipping Ants in Canada

I've also heard that shipping ants in unethical. In some senses, this is true. However, I believe that if packaged correctly, very little stress will be incurred upon the ants. I would compare it to shipping tarantulas and scorpions. Even if packaged correctly, someone could still drop it, or send ...

Re: What is your queen catching methodology?

I started last year, and had no success for a while. Then, my brother found a really large ant, and caught it in a dog poop bag. when he showed me, it was a camponotus queen. Later, when I took my dog for a walk, I found about 6 or 7. The point being, if you're prepared, and, if you're vigilant, you...

Re: Can i put my formicarium outside in Australia PLZ HELP

I don't have any experience for Australia, but, as long as the ants have somewhere to cool down during a hot day, they should be fine. 8-)
