i know isle of hope. but i would take a trip out to the area between garden city and downtown. its a little sketch at night but you will be there in the day. look around the parking lot areas, near the curbs and such. there are many many diff sp. there. also try walking around the historic district...

I can't ID the ant for you (or any ant for that matter xD ), but the 3rd ant sure looks like a queen ant to me. I'm just guessing on the way that the antennae are shaped though.

I took a few looks online and I think they're Brachymyrmex patagonicus, and I am probably wrong myself, but I think I just might be right :)

I found one yesterday and I found one today (I'm pretty sure they're the same species). The 1st I found in my pool, the second just landed next to me in the dirt in my backyard about 10 yards from where I found the first queen in the pool. I would just like to say that since posted I have found a 7th queen in the pool (also with wings) but this one took her wings off in the test tube, she's the only one that's alone the others are in groups of 3 and 3. Will these queens get along? Also I forgot to say but they're about 4mm or so long.
