Re: What kind of ant do you think this is?

Yes. I caught her by my house. Hmmm...I’m trying to remember if she actually looked that skinny in real life. When I had her, she didn’t look particularly skinny to me, but maybe she actually was. Idk. I’m pretty new to the hobby. Also, I think you could be right about her being a temnothorax. It s...

We NEED pictures. But if it's a queen and it's 20mm you probably have a Bull Ant queen. Nice!

It is, I can't tell what. Try to get some better close up pictures if you can.

A new and wholesome Discord.

See, many people in the current popular antkeeping Discord will know that their staff are irresponsible, toxic, and harm their own community. It is not a nice place to be in and many of the dedicated users of it are either getting banned or leaving because of all of this racket. So I've made a new D...

My colony has curently 700 workers. The drop of honey water and a piece of an insect work even when the colony is young.
And at What count of workers should i start with this?
After the first workers close, give them a few days like around 3 and then feed them.

Any New Yorkers wanna join me on youtube?

I've made a channel called New York Ants that is planned to not just be recorded by me but by as many people in NY who want to. Essentially if you want to record and upload your videos, I have the ability to invite you as manager via email which lets you upload your own videos onto the channel! If t...

2 questions related to 2 queens I have

So today is pretty much the first warm day in NYC. Today while walking into the park I found a Lasius queen. I know what ant she is because I recognize her colors, but I need to check the name real quick. Is it a good idea to just leave her slightly on a heat pad and wait for her to get going? In ad...
