I don't think she's arboreal, but you are correct as to Myrmicinae.

Measurements will greatly improve the chances of identifying your queen.

I think most Brachymyrmex are polygynous, although don't go mixing established colonies.

Post an ID request in the designated section. We'll need measurements (in millimeters), location (to at least the state/province, or alternatively major city), and clear pictures of the ant, The best way to take these would be one of the front, side, and top of the ant.
