Re: New Colony!

Based on watching this species in videos it seems that they are technically polymorphic like many ant species even though the sizes aren't as obvious. This video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yU8z5EgxCiI is the first one that came up and I think I can see at least a small difference in head and bo...

Re: I need feedback on my design and plans!

Seems like we got a Camponotus crew gathered here, I came to check out your build and honestly find myself blown away by the intricacy of the design. I really love the idea of a self-balancing culmination of species and biomes that creates a miniature circle-of-life so to speak. One concern I person...

Re: Looking for active GAN farmers in Michigan

I just wanted to update this in case anyone stumbled on it. I have found a local GAN farmer and now have 2 new colonies going! I am also going to be keeping a journal here on the forums to follow their successes, struggles and dramas here: https://forum.AntsCanada.com/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=15074 I l...

Re: C. noveboracensis and T. spE: My first dive into ant keeping

Here is a video teaser for future time-lapse projects showing The Carpenters and their move into the AntsCanada test tube portal. I really like the portal because of how easy it will be to keep things sterile and small for the young slow growing Camponotus ants! https://youtu.be/34ExdqnlaMc You can ...

Re: AntsDakota's Camponotus pennsylvanicus

I recently had a Camponotus queen die, me and the GAN farmer I have been in contact with had been trying to trouble shoot the reason her and some other of her workers passed, but not all. It seems it could have been that there were trace amounts of pesticides in the honey I had fed them. All is not ...
