that ant did die :(, but the picture was taken while she was still alive, just refrigerated because i couldnt get a good picture. on ant 5. I know right!!. thats why i collected him. but its huge. must 20-30 mm. (big guess, no clue but it is muuuuch bigger than 8mm, i guess it could be as small as 1...

looks an awful lot like my Forelius ants "sun ants" but without a closee picture I would say it is also likely a Dorymyrmex "pyramid ant" (or possibly something completely different but i doubt it) check out my journal on these guys for so neat pictures a stories. as well as the arduous task of diff...
