Re: Is these white tiny insects a threat?

Camponotus not accepting proteins

Hello all, My second camponotus colony has 7 workers and are in a test tube setup still with a small outworld for me to place food in. They havent been accepting protein since coming out of hibernation, but more than willingly accept honey. Is there a reason for this? I figured if theyre hungry they...

Re: Pavement ants larvae placement

I have a large tetramorium colony and they do this as well. I get to see their entire brood of eggs everyday, and I believe its because I have the sun shining through the window they are next too. She is protecting it, but I am worried now that she may just do nothing until she dies. Is there any hope?? If anyone has a...

A Sad Story--Need Advice

Hello, Basically, a terrible thing happened (long story) and all of the workers (9 of them) died in my Camponotus colony. The queen is okay. Im just wondering, is she going to keep trying to lay eggs and will she take care of them? Or has she entered some phase where she is expecting her workers to ...

VASELINE AS A BARRIER

Hello everyone, This topic of vaseline as a barrier has been mentioned before, but none mentioned the issue I am having. I have a fairly large (500+ workers) tetramorium colony living in a terarrium. I use vaseline as the barrier. Ive been finding, however, many dead ants in the vaseline. What the i...
