Do not feed your queens raw unprocessed honey. Little incite, bee keepers use a special powder to keep mites and ants out of there hives. Almost anywhere just keep looking I found all my queens within 20 ft of my house, look under rocks, wood, leaves that have matted flat. Wood ants fly at night turn on a porch light sit around and wait you might be surprised what you find.

Depends on what you are looking for. For wood ants looks behind loose bark on trees or stumps. I normally use the fire dept parking lot at dusk the lights draw them.

Ants prefer dark and humid, best way to get this environment is to cover the nest.

Uncover the test tube, wet the formicarium that you want them to move into. Cover the formicarium so its dark, when the tube starts to dry out they will move just takes time and patience. Light will cause them to hunt a new nest it will take some time before they will move.

Wash the swing set in warm vinegar water, 2nd coat areas where you do not want the ants with wd-40. Allow time to dry soak ropes as well. This will cause them to not come back and takes some time for it to wash off.
