Re: Need help in identifying if its a queen ant

Odontomachus are predatory ants and eat mostly insects in the wild.
She needs protein to lay eggs so feed her only with insects and from time to time you can add a small drop of sugarwater.

Odontomachus are hard to raise from a single queen. Also queens are semi claustral and come out to forage during the founding stage. The queen should be fed every 2 or 3 days with small insects and it is better to provide her with a small outworld. And they don't do well without substrate so its go...

Re: ID BRAZIL

If they are leaf cutters there is a chance they have dropped their fungus pellet and can not start a fungus.
If so you can get a small peace of fungus from a wild colony and give it to them.
From these photos I can't see what species they are but in Brazil you can find other easier to keep species.

No need to clean. After she has finished eating just remove the cotton.

Re: Need help identifying some queens i caught!

You might have found her foraging after the nuptial flight at that time she has probably dug a founding chamber and left her fungus pellet there. The only thing you can do is get a small peace of fungus from a mature colony and hopefully she will start caring for it.
