Re: Crematogaster queen no longer laying large numbers of eggs.

Alates are possible. I saw 3 alates, all male, in the ant habitat as well as several larger than normal pupae

Very much appreciate the information . Have a good day.

Re: i have a camponotus pudorosus queen with workers and 2 males

the workers seem to feed the queen so i think they are the same colony Most males can't eat or contribute to the colony in any way except being **** factories once they leave. They are not workers if they have wings and small heads they are males and, for lack of a better term, should be discarded....

Crematogaster queen no longer laying large numbers of eggs.

Each year they have come in-and-out of hibernation just fine in all years the Queen has immediately started laying eggs as soon as she has access to sufficient amounts of protein has been given to start...

Christmas Red dye = massive ant fight

I tried to color the sugar for my crematogaster colony. I picked out some dye I had, called "Christmas Red." It colored the sugar water just fine. I wanted to see the brood, not really the ants themselves. However, each ant that left the test tube where the sugar was stored came under attack. It cau...

Ants invading my kitchen

Now... I love ants... however they have their place. And their place is not to have THOUSANDS of ants in my kitchen. These showed up a few days ago, just saw a couple, then today there are handfuls of them in my kitchen. What kinda of ants are these? I put down a little ant trap, however they don't ...

Formicarium for tapinoma sessile

I'm picking up a colony of 1000-1200 tapinoma sessile with at least 2 queens. Probably more. Which hybrid nest and outworld setup do you recommend?

Thanks! Ant love forever.

Re: Help removing Tetramorium

Maybe not the perfect solution but it does give me an idea. I've got a number of unused dark colored totes and some aquarium hose... perhaps if I apply foundation sealer around the primary problem areas leave 2 openings... one to attach the aquarium hose and one to use water to saturate the nest to...

These are termites.
Sadly, BSF is correct (as always). Those are termite queens. Keep trying! Better luck next time, never give up looking for those ant queens! On the other hand, you can raise termites, too. Just um.... don't let them escape... or launch alates. =)
