I have about 8 workers and when they first emerged I gave them a couple drops of honey over a few weeks and attempted to give them a little bit more, it seems like they have stopped being interested in the honey and I am curious ...

Emergency, Queen has been lost.

Alright guys so as it states I have lost my Queen, I'm not proud of it but I have a few questions. Ok so backstory Ive been taking care of two Queens I caught this summer, I found them both one day after the other, in the same exact spot. Re: Nanitic workers dead

Formica, I gave them a drop of honey when they first emerged, and I have recently gave them a small area to forage with a small cricket leg in there assuming they'd look for food when they were hungry

Nanitic workers dead

Hi everyone, I am starting to get worried, my queen had a nanitic brood of 3 and up until today I only had one successfully eclose, but now the lone worker looks to be dead. Is there anything I can do here? I don't think my queen has any eggs in her test tube. I do see a fair bit of mold in her tube...

Nanitic drowned?

Hi everyone, I just started having my nanitic show up, and my third working hatched over the last day or two. She's still very pale but looks like she's struggling to stand up because she's too wet? I'm worried she might be drowning or too wet or something I'm not really sure if this is an issue to ...

Pupa and more eggs

Hi everyone, I have a few questions about my Formica queen, I am in south west Ohio and have had my queen for a month now. It looks like I have 3 pupa, 2 of which are naked and the other in a cocoon. My queen did rip some of the cotton off of her setup for what I assume was nesting material for the ...
