They came out today and are biting and tearing the cotton. I think they want food.

The queen and a few workers move! I’ve tried warming them to no avail!

Well if you can you should collect the workers because she will die withought them. She grew dependent on them.

I think that my queens have organized a sort of "ranking system". I see that one queen gets tended to the most often, and the injured queen the least. Of course, there was some dueling involved in order to establish these ranks.

One of my Tetramorium sp.E queens died.

She had eggs when I left for home. 3 days later I checked on her and she was dead. It’s so sad.

A Petri dish isn't a bad size, the only issue is that you can't feed them easily or give them water easily. You should order test tubes if you haven't already or try to find something comparable. Standard test tube setup works really well as a nest, specially if you can limit the entrance via AC sm...
