Re: Colorado Nupital Flights
Tetramoriums are flying in south and north Colorado Springs! I caught over 20 down around the Powers and Galley area, then came home to Briargate and found several more. They are out there!

Camponotus Queen?
https://imgur.com/a/KzSSf99 This is the second queen to show up in my bathroom! Credit goes to my awesome wife for spotting her. Did my best with pictures with what I have. She is about 15mm long. Mostly black, with a touch of dark brown. It's a cooler day today in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Pretty...

Re: Moving a Stubborn Queen and Her Eggs into a New Test Tube
She is still being stubborn Her cotton ball is still rather moist still. I have a couple of old style AC tube connectors with a short piece of tubing with some pinholes in it connecting her to the new tube now, so she is welcome to move whenever she gets the gumption. I don't trust my clumsy hands t...

Moving a Stubborn Queen and Her Eggs into a New Test Tube
I have a queen (pretty sure a lasius species) and a few eggs of hers that need to go into a fresh new test tube. Her current one is very low on water. I'm trying the trick with attaching the fresh test tube to the old, covering it and then putting a light close to the old tube to get her to pack up ...

Test Tube Sanitation?
I'm using plastic test tubes and cotton balls like most everyone else for starting my queens. What is the best way to ensure that both the test tubes and cotton balls are sterile and less likely to develop mold in the future? Would rubbing alcohol or bleach be too strong? What does everyone around h...

ID Help- It's Rainin' Queen in Colorado! Found 8/12
I think this hobby is going to be the thing that gets me into macrophotography. I need to get something better, I wish I could do better than these. If you want a link to the whole album with some other queens that I didn't direct link here, this is the album link http://imgur.com/a/fSwMi, I picked ...

8/12 - Pogonomyrmex? Colorado Springs, CO 8/12
Found this gal just in time to try out the new clip on macro lens for the ipad. She is quite red, and just under 10mm. From looking around, I want to say Pogonomyrmex, but I'm not entirely sure. Can anyone confirm or deny with what I have here? http://i.imgur.com/yI4sPIo.jpg http://i.imgur.com/aQdoZ...

JAWBREAKERS LIVE!!!!
I was about to throw my design into the ring, but upon their sudden loss, I was heartbroken and shelved it. Now that they live on, I went ahead and did it.

Colorado Springs, CO, Possible Queen found on 8/1
I think it's a queen at least. Not quite black, maybe really dark olive, with a little bit of a pearlescence to her abdomen. She is about 10.5mm long. Found in some flowers by a co-worker. These were the best I can do for pics. Thanks in advacne for any help! http://imgur.com/KNr9F80 http://imgur.co...

Colorado Tetramorium? Found on 7/20 in Bath Tub
Found her in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Looking at the other recent posts of Colorado Queens, I'm thinking she is a tetramorium. I did my best with the photo equipment I have and these are what I have for pictures of her. Hopefully, there is enough there to confirm my suspicions. Sorry in advance i...
