St. Peter, MN. 22 un-ID'd queens

-First one caught July 16 currently raising several pupae. Formica sp -9 caught Aug 12 last weekend around 6-7pm, currently 2 queens laying eggs. -Another 12 caught yesterday Aug 19 same time. Thank you! Thank you!!!!!! I looked at some comparison pics and geo location. Looks closest to Formica neorufibarbis for sure.

Copy that. No workers! I assume this species of ant is unprefferred due to the parasitic characteristics of this species.

Yea there is i just looked at the species distribution map it can be found through north america but it might be a different sub-speices i know its a formica i wouldn't try to mix them together even if they are polygynous ^^ as did I, I found the same info. There aren't any Formica rufa in North America, so you should probably make an ID request.

I caught what I was told to be a Formica Rufa queen. So the question is...

Can I have a multiple queen colony?

Should I, is this a good idea?

Lastly how and when? assuming I can find another Formica Rufa queen.
