What Species? Maybe Pheidole?

I found these ants outside yesterday. I live in Covington, Louisiana (south LA) and I minors with small heads and majors with big heads. They're about a couple mm long. They were carrying seeds back to their nest, too. This all leads me to believe they are Pheidole sp. Can you pinpoint the species? ...

Camponotus pennsylvanicus worker. Notice the small mesosma (thorax) without wing scars.
Thanks

I have this species too! I found her today and I'm pretty sure it's the same species (not 100% sure though).

Edit: where did you find her?

Black Possible Queen

I found her today (9/18/17) in south Louisiana. She was under a piece of rotting wood and some of her spiecies were being attacked by crematogaster workers, which leads me to believe she is a crematogaster queen. She is about 5 mm long.

Another tiny queen, different species

(Yes, my camera is a potato)

Ok, so I found this queen yesterday (August 12) under a flowerpot in southern Louisiana. She is about 4mm long. I couldn't get a side pic.

I give up. I was going to just attach the file but oh well.

Re: Tiny queen ant! What species is she?

Wow, cool ant queen! How tiny she is! How did you manage to see her in the grass/dirt? I found her while I was flipping over sticks and bricks. This is how I usually look for queens now. I also found a Crematogaster atkinsoni queen under a brick a while ago. I know you probably don't care, but my C...
