Am, 1 or two are cleaning their gasters, are there still flights left to take place for tetramorium?

Re: OH-KY-IN-IL-MI Nuptial Flight Sightings

I caught 3 tetramorium with wings at around 7:45, is this too soon, or is this already after mating. None of them have taken of their wings, I caught them on Wednesday.

Re: Combining fusca queens

If you catch more this season then maybe you could try ...

Re: tetramorium sp. e Queen help!

Pavement ant queens do that, I have kept many and they just sit there until they become workers, DO NOT flip her over as she may get stressed and eat all of her brood. I would only check on her once a week maximum as a stressed queen will eat her eggs. I like to just stare at the queens antenna to s...

Re: Combining fusca queens

You could connect the test tubes together and give them some time, do not forcibly put one with the other, this does not always work out even though they are polygynos so I advise you to keep them separate, I know it’s cool forming a big super colony but in most cases the strongest queen survives an...

Re: Did I Find a Queen? If So, Need an ID.

Those are definitely queens, it’s just hard to tell how what genus they are, they look like they could be tetramorium, Formica, or camponatus, how big are they?
