Hi AC fam... so i got my first queen, a nice big black carpenter ant. I put her in a nice dark drawer. Just peeked in on her tonight and she still has her wings attached and is just pulling the cotton apart but has not escaped..... Thoughts? not mated? i know she needs time, and may even hybernate b...

2 new queens

found 2 new, what i think, queens. they shed there wings during transport home. now photoed in there new homes. Can anyone identify them and confirm if they are queens and not drones? Thanks! Update: tried to take a few more photos and found a measuring tape. She is really making a mess of the cotton, keeping her in a dark place for a while.
