Re: Waking up/warming up my ants?

This year will be my first year waking up ants from hibernation, and I wanna make sure I'm doing it right, so I have a few questions! I don't see this process talked about in too much detail and I'm always very over-worried about doing things right. It's almost time to take my ants out of hibernati...

Re: Unprepared beginner?!

Sorry for spamming, im not sure what the temperament difference would be between the two, like food, temperature, etc... Either way it's now been day two, and three workers have emerged and actively forage in the makeshift environment I've created, I wish I could afford the proper equipment, but wo...

Re: Looking to adopt/purchase Pogonomyrmex in Salt Lake City, Utah area.

But still dont know how to contact the seller and actually purchase the queen. I was kind of hoping that I could contact the seller this way. But apparent...

Re: Northeast US Nuptial flights

Hey all, I'm gearing up to begin capture of queens relatively soon, and was curious as to what I could expect and when. I know Prenolepis Imparis should be in the middle of their mating season, and I believe Camponotus season starts soon in this area. I was wondering if there is a more specific tim...

Re: Looking to adopt/purchase Pogonomyrmex in Salt Lake City, Utah area.

As the subject states I would really like to adopt a queen Pogonomyrmex barbatus/occidentalis. I would prefer the queen only or maybe a queen and a few workers. I sent my info through the GAN site but have not received a response yet. Sorry if I'm being over eager. My son and I are excited to start...

Re: I need answers about my Camponotus subbarbatus...

Okay so the other day I found a Camponotus subbarbatus Queen three workers and a couple eggs and what appeared to be her hibernation chamber. I checked earlier and it seems the eggs are gone now. Does anyone know what could have happened? And do you think she will leave more? I have seen the worker...

Re: Tiny Tetramoriam Queen

I caught a queen last Wednesday She laid eggs today hooray http://imgur.com/a/BBH1U Yeah, I'm not convinced that is tetramorium. Too shiny, and too roundish shaped. Teteramorium almost have more rectangular features if that makes any sense. Can we see more pictures of her? Also a measurement and lo...
