Re: should I feed my newly caught lasius neoniger queen?

Actually, believe it or not, it landed on my friends shoulder. I was in a grassy area sitting right by a sidewalk. There wa...

should I feed my newly caught lasius neoniger queen?

So I caught a lasius neoniger queen on the ninth, but I'm not sure whether or not to give her a little drop of honey yet, or to wait until I put her into hibernation. I'm concerned that I may be starving her! No signs of it, but I want to do what it best for her. She is fully claustral, but she won'...

Re: Lasius Neoniger

Hi! I have also just caught a lasius neoniger queen, and while I have only had her for a few days, I can give you one piece of information that you may or may not know. Lasius neonigers hibernate before laying eggs, so you wont be seeing much action for a while, That's pretty much all I can say Exce...

I would suggest perhaps getting one of the toy handheld fans and taping it to the outside of the out world, so that the air is going across the top of the outworld. Some air circulation will go into the outworld thus discouraging the ants f...

Re: ants diet

HI! What I would suggest is a cricket leg and a small drop of honey. Be careful with bugs though. If you live in an area where pesticides are used then you can't just go out side, grab a cricket, rip its leg off and feed it to them. because ants are considered "pests" also, they will die from anythi...

Lasius Neoniger first time journal

September ninth I caught a Lasius Neoniger Queen! She is my first queen ever. :D She landed on my friends shoulder and then flew down to the grass where I caught her. Unfortunately, one on her antennas broke off while I was trying to move her into the test tube set up. Crossing my fingers she will l...
